The privacy of your data—and it is your data, not ours!—is a big deal to us. InsightPlayer is built on a local-first architecture. This means your video files, audio transcriptions, and AI-generated insights are processed and stored 100% locally on your own device. We do not copy, stream, or upload your footage to our servers.

In this policy, we lay out: what minimal data we collect and why; how your data is handled; and your rights with respect to your data. We promise we never sell your data: never have, never will.

What We Collect and Why

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need to run our website, manage the early access waitlist, and handle billing. Here's what that means in practice:

Identity and Access

When you sign up for the InsightPlayer waitlist or create an account, we ask for identifying information such as your name and email address. This is so we can manage your beta spot, send you product updates, and deliver your secure license keys. With your consent, we will send you our product updates. We'll never sell your personal information to third parties.

Billing Information

If you sign up for a paid InsightPlayer tier (Pro or Expert), you will be asked to provide your payment information. Credit card information is submitted directly to our third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe) and never hits InsightPlayer servers. We only store a record of the transaction (like the last 4 digits of the card) for invoicing, account history, and billing support.

Product Interactions & Local Analysis

Unlike traditional cloud SaaS platforms, InsightPlayer does not store your processed video content or local databases on our servers.

  • Your Footage: All video files you import remain strictly on your local machine.
  • AI Processing: All transcriptions, semantic search indices, and summaries are calculated locally using your device's GPU / Neural Engine.
  • No AI Model Training: We never access, see, or use your video content or insights to train any AI models.

Website Interactions & Analytics

We collect basic information about browsing activity on our marketing site for statistical purposes (e.g., conversion rate testing). This includes browser types, basic geolocation data (IP address), and which pages you visited. This helps us optimize our landing page layout.

Voluntary Correspondence

When you email InsightPlayer with a question or to ask for help, we keep that correspondence, including your email address, so that we have a history of past support cases to reference if you reach out in the future.

When We Access or Disclose Your Information

  • To Provide Services: We use a few trusted infrastructure subprocessors to host our marketing website and manage our waitlist database (e.g., Supabase).
  • No Human Access to Content: Because your data lives locally on your device, no human at InsightPlayer can look at your video content, notes, or search history.
  • When Required Under Applicable Law: InsightPlayer is a product owned and operated by ATA Labeling Solutions LLC, a U.S. company. All marketing site and waitlist data infrastructure are located in the U.S. If U.S. law enforcement authorities present a valid legal warrant or court order compelling us to disclose the minimal infrastructure data we have (such as your account email or billing address), we must comply. We cannot disclose your video data, as we do not possess it.

Your Rights With Respect to Your Information

We strive to apply the same data rights to all customers, regardless of their location (including GDPR, nDSG, and US state privacy regulations):

  • Right of Access & Portability: You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you (essentially your email and billing info) and request a copy.
  • Right to Correction & Erasure: You can update your account information or request that we completely erase your email from our waitlist and database.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can opt out of any marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link.

How We Secure Your Data

  • In Transit: All data transmitted from our marketing site or waitlist forms to our database is encrypted via SSL/TLS.
  • At Rest (On Your Device): Since InsightPlayer operates locally, the security of your local archive relies on your device's native security infrastructure (such as FileVault on macOS or BitLocker on Windows). We recommend keeping your device encrypted to protect your local knowledge base.

Changes and Questions

We may update this policy as needed to reflect new practices or compliance regulations. Whenever we make a significant change, we will refresh the date at the top of our legal page.
